Obituary for Arlene Safran (DeNunzio)

Arlene Safran passed away on August 16, 2022. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Safran. Arlene was born on March 5, 1940, in Jeannette, PA, the youngest child of the late Felix and Emma Raviart DeNunzio. She is survived by her two daughters, Debi Leventry, married to James Leventry, and Vicki Safran, married to Robert Sentner; five grandchildren, Sarah Doverspike, married to Ori Fox, Patrick Doverspike, married to Brittany Kish, Jesse Doverspike, married to Sara Schulkowski, Alexandra Sentner and Hunter Sentner; one great granddaughter, Liana Safran Fox; one sister, Laura Serago and one brother, Phillip DeNunzio, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Arlene was predeceased by one grandson, Brian Doverspike, and one sister, Irma Vukovich.
Arlene and Joe were married for 62 years. They loved one another deeply and were inseparable. They took pleasure in life's small things. They loved caring for their family and their home, traveling, taking walks and just sitting together, appreciating the day and holding hands.
Arlene will be remembered for her devotion to her husband and family, her sweet, quiet and caring personality, her surprising subversive sense of humor and her dislike of pomp and pretense.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 9:00 am to 9:45 am at the Ott Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. Parting prayers will be held at 9:45am in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church.
