Obituary

Barry Hickey, age 68 of North Huntingdon died on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in UPMC Presby. He was born October 27, 1951 in Greensburg, the son of the late Vern and Allegra (Ponitz) Hickey. He is also predeceased by his wife Kathy (Pytlak) Hickey. Barry owned and operated Barry’s Auto and Restoration in North Huntingdon for over 38 years. He was a member of the Jacktown Ride Hunt Club and was a Mopar fanatic. He is survived by his children; Justin Hickey of Bloomfield, Jessica Hickey of North Huntingdon and Ryan (fiancée Hope Haddad) Hickey of Greensburg; granddaughter Graceyn and a brother Ronald (Lydia) Hickey of TN and his beloved dog Diesel. Visitation will be held at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin on Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 to noon where a Memorial Service will be held. Due to COVID masks must be worn and 25 people at a time.

Barry has patched numerous cars for me over the past 25 or more years, and I can say that I enjoyed our chats whenever I visited him as much as the great service he rendered. He was one of those guys who made you feel like he was a close friend and confidante and I will certainly miss him.
