Carol Ann (Schafer) Chapla, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021. Born in Braddock she was one of seven children of the late Francis W. and Ann (Morvay) Schafer and was preceded in death by her husband, John J. "Jack" Chapla, her brothers, Bruce Schafer and Freddie Schafer, and sister, Francine House. Carol was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon. Carol was kind, generous, an excellent cook and baker, and was known for her cookies and pies. She also loved her many AARP trips with her friends and sister, Dianne. Carol is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Elder and her husband, William, of Irwin, one son, Jeffery J. Chapla, of Kennewick, WA; her favorite grandson, Joel Myron-John Elder and his wife, Aubrey, of Lee’s Summit, MO; great grandson, Judson William Joseph Elder; sister, Dianne Garland and brothers, Brian Schafer and Jerome Schafer; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. To honor Carol’s wishes there will be no viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Saturday February 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
