Colleen Lissy, 70, of North Huntingdon died Tuesday February 22, 2022. She was born June 23, 1951, in McKeesport she is the daughter of the late Frank C. and Catherine (Steel) Lissy. She is also predeceased by her beloved friend, Lee Berkebile. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Biology. She began her career with Westinghouse Electric Corp. as an environmental biologist. Later, she worked as a nuclear power plant engineer, her last position with Westinghouse (later operated by Bechtel Inc.) was a technical writer for the U.S. Navy. After retirement, she went to school to become a PA licensed and nationally certified massage therapist. She initially volunteered massage therapy for AserCare Hospice, for which she was give their outstanding volunteer award. Later, she was employed as a massage therapist at Michelle’s Bella Boutique and also Synergy Salon & Spa. Her retirement years also saw her return to her passion of music. She sang with the Immaculate Conception Church choir. She also studied organ and sacred music with Dr. Ann Labounsky at Duquesne University. She played for many church services in Westmoreland and Allegheny counties, including Heinz Chapel. She also had the opportunity to preform on many organs in France and England. She was a member and officer of three local chapters of the American Guild of Organists. She was also a volunteer with Heritage Hospice and with Meals on Wheels. Other hobbies that she enjoyed through the years, included: ballroom dancing, vineyard maintenance, and winner of winemaking competitions both locally and internationally. She is survived by her brother, Richard Lissy, of Stump Creek, PA., a niece, Lisa (David) Thompkins, of North Huntingdon; a niece, Amy (Benjamin) Woytsek, of Pittsburgh, PA.; two nephews, Logan and Connor Thompkins; and several cousins. Friends will be received Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home Inc 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. Parting prayers will be held Tuesday 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
