Obituary for Debra Jean Belko (Broker)

Debra Jean Belko, 69 of North Huntington passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She went to heaven to be joined together with her mother and father who she missed dearly. Wife, mother and professional, Deb was a loving soul whose family came first and meant everything to her.

Deb was born June 9, 1951 in Penn, a daughter of the late Nick and Janet
(Pete) (Park) Broker. She was a 1969 graduate of Penn Joint high school and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, class of 1973. Deb was a retired Lieutenant Colonel having served 26 years in the United States Army. She was a member of Saint Barbara’s Catholic Church in Harrison City and the Pitcairn Women’s Club. She was also employed in a variety of nursing positions throughout her career and retired as a school nurse for the Yough School District.

Surviving is her husband John (Jack) Belko, a son Bradly Andre and his wife Shelby of Irwin; her brother Randy Broker and his wife Debbie, of Harrison City; two sisters, Bonnie Shaw and husband George (Butch), of Delaware and Niki Trent and her
husband Reid of Level Green. She is also survived by her two best
buddies Sonny and Dexter, miniature schnauzers, who she loved dearly.
Friends will be received on Monday 2-4 and 6-8 Pm at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin where a Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
