Edward D. (Bub) Matava, 91, of North Huntingdon, Pa. died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon. He was born May 11, 1931 in North Braddock, Pa. He is the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Swabsky) Matava. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William Matava. Before retirement he worked as a carpenter at U.S. Steel at the Edgar Thompson plant. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church of North Huntingdon. Surviving is his wife of 71 years Helen (Gelumbus) Matava; three children: Linda McCandless, (Gary) of North Huntingdon; Kathy McHugh of North Huntingdon, (the late Chris), Lori Hood, (Thomas) of North Huntingdon; seven grandchildren: Gary, Jeffrey, Ryan, Erin, Andy, Kayla, Elizabeth and 10 Great-grandchildren, a half sister; Dolores Matava and a sister in law: Elaine Conroy of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Parting prayers will take place on Saturday at 10:00 in the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 200 Leger Road, North Huntingdon.
