Jeanne L. (Viecelli) Close, age 87, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon. She was born August 14, 1933 in Westmoreland City, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Zopetti) Viecelli. She was predeceased by sons Kenneth Close and Wayne Close and a brother Albert Viecelli. Jeanne was a graduate of Seton Hill College and was a chorus teacher for the Trafford and Norwin School Districts for a total of 33 years. Jeanne was also a church organist and was a piano accompanist for the Irwin Male Chorus. After her retirement, she was a choral director for the North Lake Presbyterian Choir at The Villages of Lady Lake, Florida. She was a member of St. Agnes Church in North Huntingdon. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 69 years Eugene Close, a son Gregory(Debbie) Close, daughters-in-law Annette Close and Michelle Close, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a brother James "Jack" Viecelli , a sister Eleanor Tornblom, and several nieces and nephews. Jeanne's family extends their deep gratitude to all those at the Redstone Highlands Memory Care Unit and the Redstone Highlands Hospice Care. A private family viewing will be on Tuesday, June 8, at the Ott Funeral Home Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Tuesday 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, 11400 St. Agnes Lane, North Huntingdon.
