John Ralph Melocchi, 84 of North Irwin, PA 15642 died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 20, 2022. He was born April 27, 1938 in Sant’ Angelo del Pesco, Italy. He was the son of the late Raffaele and Carmella (Zaccardi) Melocchi. He came to America, with his family, on February 20, 1947 where he became a U.S. Citizen. John served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard from 1959-1964, where he earned a Sargent E-5 rank before being honorably discharged in 1964. He worked for Kroger for 33 years before moving to the Norwin School District as Head Custodian for 17 years. He retired from the Norwin School District on July 1, 2001. He served with the Boy Scouts of America for 10 years, two years as District Commissioner while serving on the Board of Review for Eagle Scout. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 59 years, Dorothy Mae (Thomas) Melocchi. He was the devoted father of four wonderful children; Joseph Melocchi (wife Dolores) of Sarasota Florida, Michael Melocchi (wife Tiana), Lisa (husband Mike) Koschik and Renee (husband Jamie) Pivarnik of North Huntingdon. He is also survived by three precious grandchildren; Jessica, Mason, and Maddox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Philomena and Salvatore Candiello and his brothers Carmen and Dominic Melocchi. He is survived by his sister-in-law Sue Melocchi as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a funeral service will take place on Tuesday in the Funeral Home Chapel.
