Joseph V. Veltre, 76 of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in the Rehabilitation and Care Center of Pittsburgh in Greensburg. He was born July 7, 1944 in Braddock, he was the son of the late Gabriel “Pete” and Marie (Bonacci) Veltre. Prior to his retirement, Joe was a teacher and administrator for the Woodland Hills School District at the Ben Fairless Elementary School. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Veltre, and a niece Gina Nystrom. Surviving is his wife of 54 yrs. Clara (Giordano) Veltre, a daughter Gabrielle Roche, and her husband Clint of North Huntingdon, two granddaughters, Gianna and Cecelia Roche, brother-in-law Ralph Giordano (Grace) of Rankin, a sister-in-law Gloria Batis (Tasso) of North Huntingdon, a niece, Christina Batis, nephews, Alex Batis and Frank Giordano, and several great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin on Friday from 2-6 PM. Funeral services will be private for the family.
