Obituary for Kenneth W. Milliken

Kenneth W. Milliken,76, of Greensburg was born in Irwin, Pa on November 23, 1944 to Ruth and William Milliken, graduating Norwin Highschool in 1962. He left all who held him dear on January 1. Ken fought as valiantly for his life during the past month that he fought for his country during the Vietnam War, serving in the Army as a mechanic and earning a Purple Heart for his sacrifice. Throughout his career, Ken worked as a mechanic and truck driver, holding various management positions with the former Motorcoil Corp. and most recently Mawson & Mawson. He was married to Victoria (nee Szmuc) for 42 glorious years. As a child, Kenny spent summers at his grandfather’s fishing camp on Lake Erie in Westfield, NY, igniting his love of the water, mountains, and grape jelly. The remainder of his summers were spent on the Yough Lake where many lifelong friendships were forged, most of whom now wait for him on the other side. Rest assured, there was no greater love in his life than his granddaughter, Jordyn, who renewed his spirit and expertise at making the world’s best “Pappy” PB&J sandwiches. The last few years, you could find him deeply emersed in his meditative practice atop a farm tractor, mowing the fields at the cabin in Garrett County, along with his tiny co-pilot permanently attached to his hip and his heart. Alas, the lakes and mountains eternal are calling and you must go, Godspeed. Kenny is survived by his wife, Victoria, son Aaron, granddaughter Jordyn and sister, Cheryl Milliken. Expressions of sympathy can be sent to: 124 Tippecanoe Dr., Greensburg, Pa 15601. Interment services will be private and celebration of life will be held a future date.
