Company reserves the right to refuse use of the Services to anyone and to reject, cancel, interrupt, remove or suspend any Campaign, Donation, or the Services at any time for any reason without liability.

Definitions: In these Terms and Conditions "Campaign Organizers" means those raising funds, and "Campaigns" as their fundraising campaigns. Additionally, "Donors" means those contributing funds, and "Donations" as the funds they contribute. Campaign Organizers, Donors and other visitors to the Services are referred to collectively as "Users". The term "Campaign Organizers" shall also be deemed to include any individual(s) designated as a beneficiary of Campaigns.

Among other features, the Services are designed to allow Campaign Organizers to post Campaigns to the Platform to accept Donations from Donors. Although there are no fees to set up Campaigns, a portion of each Donation will be charged as fees for our Services and those of our third party payment processors. Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services with or without notice. You agree that Company will not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance thereof. In addition, downloading, installing, or using certain Services may be prohibited or restricted by your carrier, and not all Services may work with all carriers or devices. By using the Services, you agree that we may communicate with you regarding Company and other entities by SMS, MMS, text message or other electronic means to your mobile device and that certain information about use of the Services may be communicated to us.

Charitable Giving: Campaigns are not charities to which you can make tax-deductible charitable contributions. Any Donation you make through the Platform may be processed by an unaffiliated business partner for which a processing fee (in addition to our FrontRunner Professional Fee) is deducted. Company is merely acting as a payment facilitator for any Donations.

Administrative Platform Only: The Services are an administrative platform only. All Donations are made voluntarily and at the sole discretion and risk of Donors. Company does not guarantee that Donations will be used as promised. Company does not endorse, guarantee, make representations, or provide warranties for or about the quality, safety, or legality of any Campaign. Company retains a portion of each Donation contributed to Campaigns in the amount of four percent (4%) ("FrontRunner Professional Fee"). A portion of the Donation is payable to our third party payment processors ("Processing Fee"). We reserve the right to change any of the Fees from time to time. If we change any of the Fees, we will provide notice of the change on the Website or otherwise, at our option, at least fourteen (14) days before the change is to take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the change in any of the Fees becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Fees.

To the extent you are a resident of another jurisdiction, you waive any comparable statute or doctrine

Please share your favorite memory of Larry to be included in a special keepsake book for the family.
In loving memory of Larry Keith Caldwell, age 75, who passed away peacefully on Friday November 3rd, 2023. Larry was born on October 11, 1948 in Irwin PA. He was child #7 of 12 to the late Paul and Mildred (Exton) Caldwell. Larry worked as a pile driver with the Pile Drivers Local Union #2264 Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam war; a member and Chaplain of the Jeannette Combined Veterans Honor Guard and Jeannette Legion Post #344; the current Deputy Commander for the American Legion, 31st district; and a member of the Jeannette VFW post 8240. He was preceded in death by his siblings, George (Shirley), Ken (survived by Phyllis) and John (Eary) Caldwell and Patricia (Smitty) Smith.

He married Dorothy Marie Caldwell in 1977. They both live on in the hearts of their three children: Gregory Caldwell (Alison Bresnahan) of Pittsburgh, Trisha Brunazzi (Terry) of Greensburg, Shelly Vaughn (Robert) of Munroe Falls, OH. He was the proud “Papa” to his grandchildren Nico, Mayla, & Talia Brunazzi and Olivia and Liana Vaughn; and the beloved “Uncle Larry” to many nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Larry is survived by his other siblings, Pauline Klingensmith, Roy Caldwell (Helen), Dolly Kelly (Bruce), Dave Caldwell, Marion Parker (Larry), Cindy Caldwell and Brian Caldwell.

Larry loved life. He loved seeing joy in others. He loved poetry, Hemingway, philosophy, and a comforting cup of hot water and honey. He loved so easily, never missing an opportunity to tell someone how proud he was or to thank someone for what they do. He lived for the simple moments - enjoyed catching baseball, rope swings, and slow dancing in the living room with his daughters. He made a difference in every life he met with his sentimental thoughts, contemplative questions, and genuine kindness. He was a true friend to a lifetime of people.
In his army shoes, he stood with honor and a heavy heart for others. In his work boots, he worked with purpose and persistence. In his grandson’s shoes, he shuffled along as he delivered Meals on Wheels, watched tournaments and recitals, taught grandkids to drive and took them on adventures with friends. In his slippers, he sat quietly with simplicity, love, and a grateful heart since he was such a “fortunate man.”

Larry could tell time with the sun and read a map in the stars.
He’s in every sunset and in the sea.

His heart was full, and now it can rest.
“Fair winds and blue skies.”

A Life Well Lived
From humble beginnings in Straw Pump, Pa.
He always lived close, and from that did not stray.
The one Mom could count on, when things went awry.
“Larry can fix it.” Would oft be her cry.

Was born in a building his father had built.
No rules were followed, and for that had no guilt.
Larry had patience, with this victim of war,
The roof always leaked, and for that there was tar.

The family kept growing, took his place next to Roy’s
When he entered the family there were 2 girls and four boys.
Their existence was hard – economically unstable.
Mom had to work hard to keep food on the table.

Each sibling unique, left to find their own way.
Wrestling, his forte, would soon save the day.
More siblings are coming, there’s no time to rest.
He had to move on, to make room in the nest.

Like his brothers before him, he chose to enlist.
Off to Viet Nam, the Army would insist.
He served with great honor, to his country was true,
He continued his allegiance to the red, white and blue.

He lived with some friends
A short time that ends.
He met a young woman
Unlike other women.

He saved her from harm.
She stole his heart, took his arm.
Her timing was perfect, in his special life.
It wasn’t too long, and she’d be his wife.

They started a family, with Greg it would start.
At grandma’s the cousin’s would make permanent art.
They proudly announced a second grandchild with glee!
But wonder of wonders, they suddenly had three!

Grandma came to the rescue, helped Dorothy a lot,
To manage this special and unusual plot.
Larry did construction and was anxious to learn,
Diving to build bridges, credentials he’d earn.

The years would go by, at a lightening pace
The kids kept them busy, it was a foot race.
They all found their soulmates and soon they would marry
Grandchildren on the way! There’s no time to tarry.
Babies to feed, bicycles to mend.
On a grandparents love, you can always depend.
He had 5 grandchildren and they all played a part
Of holding a piece of their grandfather’s heart.

Larry was the peace-keeper, everyone’s favorite guy.
With that wry little grin, and a twinkle in his eye.
Everyone was family, there’s really no doubt.
He learned from his mother, ”Everyone’s in – no one’s out.”

Taken too soon, it gave us all such a start.
We all have fond memories that live in our heart.
God speed, special brother, for heaven awaits.
Peer down on us fondly from the pearly gates.

Lovingly written by his brother from a different mother – Bruce Kelly

Once Upon a Time…The Continued Saga of The Owl

You may recall the saga of The Owl and The Pussycat that was shared more than three years ago when we bid farewell to our beloved Pussycat. Today we find ourselves paying tribute to The Owl, who will be deeply missed and who brought wisdom and rainbows into our lives during his time on this earth.

We all know The Owl as a helpful sort who enjoyed taking on small tasks for his kith and kin. He also took great pride in soaring above the treetops to watch over us, bringing his wings to the ground whenever he was needed. His proudest days were spent watching his family grow, especially his grand owlet and his grand kittens who flourished into smart and talented teenagers. He roosted in the bleachers at volleyball matches, perched on the sidelines at football games, and nestled into chairs to watch dance recitals.

The Owl journeyed to and fro to be with his flock. He went to reunions, where he taught future generations how to build campfires and saved them from floating too far down the river in their pea green boats. He attended birthday parties and cookouts and was an enthusiastic participant in the Christmas gift exchange, always showing gratitude for the nuts and berries and peppermint quince and wool socks he received (even though we all know owls don't wear socks, they wear slippers). Most recently, The Owl traveled to the far west coast of the country to the town of San Francisco, where he pedaled across a red bridge and rode on top of the waves in a white ferry. Even the bars of Alcatraz were no match for The Owl, as he shimmied right through and gazed over the bay imagining what it might be like to live on The Rock.

Just two summers ago, The Owl was honored to oversee his owlet’s wedding, gazing around the lodge at the smiling faces of his clan and shedding tears of joy for his son and his new bride. Some even tell of The Owl dancing by the light of the moon in a clearing in The Forest on that special day.

No creature was prouder of his twin kittens than The Owl. His feathered chest practically burst with pride when one kitten (the older) was named Teacher of the Year at his Owlma mater. And only shortly after, his other kitten (the younger) became a published author and celebrated under his watchful eye at not one, but two, book signings.

The Owl was nothing if he was not dependable. On one occasion, he was found shivering and exhausted in a nest of blankets, suffering from the bird flu. And yet he did not let down his guard over his grand kittens and managed to ensure their safe passage to various activities that kittens are wont to do, hot water with a runcible spoon full of honey steaming in a mug by his side.

The Owl was a man of his word and fulfilled many a commitment to those whose paths he crossed. He was a dedicated member of his military parliament, paying tribute to those who served and reminding everyone to be thankful for the privileges we hold dear. The Owl loved to debate and challenge, sometimes penning his response of “poppycock” on the FaceOwl app. Confidences whispered into those big owl ears were never divulged and promises were always kept. One legend puts him on the edge of the Cliffs of Derry making good on an oath he made to his big sister.

With all of these duties and responsibilities and activities, you can imagine that The Owl might become somewhat weary. And so, one recent day when The Owl felt very tired, he put down his tools and his small guitar and decided to take a break from his handyowl duties. The Owl snuggled into a soft pile of pillows, closed his eyes, and contemplated that recent trip to the West Coast. In particular, he envisioned soaring above the city on a swing made of wood and rope. And that swing, he pondered, reminded him of a similar swing in Strawpump, at the cozy nest where he grew up with his eleven siblings and where his brood eventually played tag and caught fireflies and listened to the stories of their clan. That got The Owl thinking about his brothers and sisters, both here on earth and in heaven, and then he began to think of his mother and how she was kind and wise and loving. He thought how wonderful it would be to soar into the clouds, high into the sky, and see her.

And so he did.

For those of you who know the words, please join me in song. For those who don’t, please sit back and enjoy being part of an ongoing Caldwell Family tradition.

Larry Caldwell… friend and Democratic volunteer. I remember when he first walked into the Dem office eager to help but not so eager to tackle his new fancy phone! We shared many a conversation in the office and on the phone about how to answer the tough questions his fellow Vets had about politics. Larry was always kind and insightful when speaking of his military brothers, he felt so much love and respect for them. He was sometimes brought to tears over the anger and thoughtlessness he encountered in the world. His questions were always well thought out and insightful and his answers even more so. Larry was always ready to help when I would ask him to volunteer. He was one of our “Tuesday postcards to voters” guys….bad hand writing and carpel tunnel set aside “to help the cause” We drank coffee…Larry hot chocolate….laughed, discussed, predicted and questioned on those Tuesdays all the while writing hundreds of post cards for our Democratic candidates. Larry’s volunteerism, calm demeanor and respectful delivery will be missed by all The Central Westmoreland County Dems and by me a friend of Larry Caldwell. Rest in peace my friend and enjoy the military service you participated in so often for your fellow vets. This time, sadly, they’ll carry it out for you.

Our dad
I tried for days to write words through my tears. To put thoughts together that adequately honor such an incredible man. For days, pen to paper and nothing came of it.

Then I spent an evening alone at the Millersdale house. The home where we grew up looks a little different, but feels so familiar. Dad, I spent time sitting where you sat, my eyes seeing what your eyes saw, my head resting where yours rested. I read the words of so so many handwritten notes and papers. The most important ones simply placed in two cardboard boxes next to the couch.

It wasn’t long before I was lost in your world; unsure of what I was looking for. Through each notebook and folded piece of paper, I found a deeper understanding of you, though still just a fraction of who you were.

I’ve known how to describe you as my father. Caring, thoughtful, loving, sentimental. Stern only a few times if we were not taking turns or respecting an umpire. Always learning and always teaching. You taught us every “old piledrivers trick” in the book. Your pride in construction was reflected in how you taught us (and most of our childhood friends) to do tasks so carefully with the right tool for the right job… to shingle a roof, climb scaffolding and paint a house, build a shed, haul a wheel barrow like a dog sled, and sharpen a lawnmower blade. The list of sweet childhood memories could go on forever because of the unique experiences you provided- cutting down Christmas trees, having call names on Walkie talkies, hiking at Derry cliffs, playing wiffle ball games in the yard, pushing the furniture to the wall to create a wrestling rink in the living room, racing boats made of straws and duct tape in the creek, playing kick the can on summer evenings before coming in the house to read poetry together. You taught us how to play horseshoes, respect rules, drive a stick shift, wring out a washcloth, use orange soap to get grease off our hands, to put mud on our bee stings and bite a leather keychain while splinters are pulled out of our hand. Most importantly, how to stay curious, love others, and always strive for peace in our souls. The list is never ending. Only a wizard could create that much magic.

Our childhood was full and fun because of how you and mom raised us. The two best parents ever. The ease with which we were loved and how proud you always were, was a true gift.
You weren’t just proud of your son and daughters, you were proud of every soul who called you Uncle or Brother, friend or the Wiz, comrade… Papa. And you so easily shared your feelings through welled up eyes and a cracking voice. It was endearing and sweet. It will always be such a special way to remember such a special man.

Dad, we love how you could truly find gratitude in the smallest and simplest things. And how you created an energy that was so welcoming and content. To live simply and close to the earth- always trying to understand people better. I know that playing catch, with the oil drenched leather of a well- worn baseball glove, is about so much more than ball. That’s where the goodness is. And those sweet conversations are what help us connect to and understand each other. Peace grows where one man understands another’s life experience- why someone might live or think differently, have a different opinion, or why the houseless man lives on the sidewalk.

The way we were raised, the way that you lived and the connections you made, were inherent in your nature. Caldwell nature. From grandma of course. You didn’t work on being thankful, you just were. You didn’t have to try to be an amazing dad, you just did it.

What you did try hard to do is understand your place in the universe. Amongst the history of homosapiens and through the futures of your grandkids… always striving to understand humanity and eternity.

I may not understand all of what you wrote, but I understood more of you. I recognize how pieces of you are magnified in each of us. Your heart in Trisha- the way she loves others so well; your mind in Greg- questioning everything from stars to cells; your soul in me- pondering life in even the smallest moments and trying to capture it in words. Mind, heart, and soul- a perfect triangle. A shape strong enough to get through the hardest of times together.

We will be watching to see how you continue to present in your grandkids as they grow. Nico’s athleticism; Olivia’s patience, Mayla’s enthusiasm; Liana’s loyalty and love; Talia’s creativity. Part of Papa lives in all of us forever.

We are about to listen to one of your favorite hymns- how great thou art. I can still hear you singing this around the house with loud off key notes that never deterred your efforts.
The lyrics speak to seeing the greatness of a Being in the wonder and beauty of a world He created. Today, we honor the greatness of a man in the wonder and beauty of how he touched lives every day on earth. Dad, We will see you in the forest. We will hear you in the birds’ song. We will find you in the mountains and creeks, and feel your touch through the breeze. You with your ethereal being and the mysteries of the universe revealed. Until a time that we learn the mystery ourselves, We will always look for your map in the stars, (spelling out your name for some dear ones). We will feel you near the water- the sea, raindrops, creeks and rivers. In the simplest sweet moments are where we will always meet you. In the hawk that flies overhead; the sunrise lighting the world; and the rainbows made by grandma with you now by her side.

All is well.
Fair winds, and blue skies, to our hero. We love you.
