Obituary for Lee J. Stipanovich

Lee J. Stipanovich, of Irwin, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2021 in McKeesport. He was born June 1, 1982 in Latrobe, a son of the late Lewis G. Stipanovich and is survived by his mother Shari Stipanovich-Lipko and her husband Jerry Lipko, sister Laura Stipanovich, niece Kallie Stipanovich and a nephew Ayden Stillitano. He was unique in himself, everyone who knew him loved him. He has such a charismatic personality that you just wanted to be in his company. He was a avid lover of animals, nature, the outdoors and trivia and instantly knew facts about any topic you could imagine. He had a love of Star Wars memorabilia and was an accomplished guitarist, much of which was self- taught. He could listen to a song and play it from memory in a matter of minutes. He was also a writer and in fact started a book several years ago but never completed. He was extremely clever and his sense of humor was remarkable. Lee had a very humble side to him and would help anyone in need no matter what. He was also there to have your back. He loved taking pictures of thunderstorms and sunsets. He would pull over to the side of the road to attempt to get a picture of lightning and rainbows and the sun going down. This was as he put it “incredible”. He also said that about his mother’s pineapple pretzel salad and Jerry’s stuffed peppers. He took pride of his collection of shoes and his vintage, retro t-shirts. We can remember the things, the essence, the him that filled a space of our universe like stars. You were here and then you were not. We all felt the slam, the crumbling. We are bent but not broken thanks to love and support and we are grateful for the many happy memories that we can look back on, he was loved so much. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin at which time a closing prayer will take place. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to Sage’s Army 6044 Routh 30, Greensburg, PA 15601.
