Obituary for Michael Angelo Furlin

Michael Angelo Furlin of North Huntingdon age 64, died Thursday December 24, 2020 in the Allegheny General Hospital. He was born November 17, 1956 in Greensburg to Geraldine Furlin (Haubric) and the late Angelo Furlin. Presently he was employed as a sales representative at Adirondack Fire Equipment. He was a former emergency responder and retiree (2017) from the Pennsylvania Turnpike, past volunteer paramedic/EMT for Rescue 8. Elected Pennsylvania State Constable, Fairmont-Hahntown VFD Trustee, Norwin class of 1974. He was a social member at Shafton, North Irwin, Hartford Heights Fire Departments, Loyal Order of Moose #236 of Irwin and Conneaut Fire Department. Michael was most passionate and proud of the many years he dedicated as a volunteer firefighter and past chief at FHVFD. Michael was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin, Charter member of the St. Jude Knights of Columbus Council # 9019 of North Huntingdon, and was a honorary retired member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local # 250 of Jeannette. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, John R. Furlin and a sister Karen A. Butler (Furlin). Nieces and nephews, Adam Baker and Amy Huffer(John) and Kelsey and Jordan Butler. Great nephew Braxton Huffer and several aunts and Cousins. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Westmoreland Excela Health in Greensburg and Allegheny General Hospitals for their patience, time and compassion while caring for Michael. Friends will be received on Monday from 3 to 7 PM at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin where parting prayers will take place on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church. Please be prepared to follow all CDC mandated guidelines, by wearing masks, social distance, and no more than ten people in the funeral home at a time.
