Paula Eva (Lake) Smith, 81, of Irwin died peacefully after a short illness on Monday January 18, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Patrick A. Smith, of Irwin, her children, Gary (Lorie) Smith, Paul (Melonie) Smith also of Irwin, Michael (Danielle) Smith, of Level Green, Denise (Bradley) Fey, of State College, her sister Patricia (Derek) Clarke, of Mundesley England and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Benjamin, Allison (Corey), Mackenzie, Nicole, Emily, Haley, Luke, Samantha, Turner, Nicholas, Nora, Hunter and Camila. She was preceded in death by her mother Gladys Ruby Lake and her father Geoffrey William Lake and brothers, Alan (Yvonne) and Barry (Muriel) all of Norwich, England. Paula was born in Norwich, England in 1939, married Patrick on June 27, 1959 and Immigrated to the United States in 1965. They were welcomed By Patrick’s brother, John V. Smith and appreciated the many friends that welcomed them to their new home. Above all, Paula was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved them exceedingly spending hours doing puzzles, providing snacks, coloring and her favorite, giving cuddles. She was a member of the Elliott couples bowling league for over 40 years and cherished the friends she made there sharing hours of laughter. She worked at Rite Aid in Irwin and was a customer favorite. She befriended many seniors and regulars and kept them returning with her smile and genuine concern. Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday and Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Ott Funeral Home Inc 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
