Robert R.” Bob” Brackney Sr. 87 of North Huntingdon, PA 15642 died Tuesday Feb. 8, 2022 at his home. He was born April 16, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Chester and Loretta (Holler) Brackney. Bob Previously worked at Penn State Tool and Die and Blazers Fitness Center, and was also at one time employed at Owens Illinois. Bob was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin, where he was and usher, Lector and Eucharistic Minister and Minister of the Holy Communion to the sick. Bob was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #236 of Irwin, where he was Past Governor, Treasurer, Legion of the Moose, and recently earned his Pilgrim Degree. Bob was a former member of Rescue 8 of North Huntingdon, Pittsburgh Rockets Drum and Bugle Corps., and the Westmoreland Esquires Drum and Bugle Corps. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Dopler) Brackney, a brother, Raymond and his sisters Donna Brackney Vas and Jean Hayden. Surviving are three children, Lynn A. Mehring and her husband William of North Huntingdon, Robert R. Brackney Jr., and his wife Ronni of Latrobe, Mark Brackney and his wife Beth of North Huntingdon. A sister, Pat Brackney of Worchester, MA, 10 grandchildren: Chris Gross, Dr. Nicholas Gross and his wife Michelle, Justin Gross, Nate Mehring, Madison, Michael, Megan, McKenna, Dane, and Devin Brackney, a great grandson Brooks Brackney. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Ott Funeral Home, 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin, on Thursday, February 17th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Parting Prayers will take place on Friday, February 18th at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Huntingdon.
