Obituary for Robert Paul Crupie

Robert Paul Crupie Sr., 78, of Larimer died on Monday, March 29, 2021 at his home. He was born on December 8, 1942 in Larimer, a son of the late Nicholas and Rose (Colinear) Crupie. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a hot press operator for Wabtec. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin. Robert coached baseball for Little League, Pony League, and Norwin American Legion baseball teams. He was not just a coach that changed the game of baseball for many young men of Norwin, but a coach that loved, mentored, and impacted the lives of his players, making them feel like they were part of his family. He was a passionate Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Nick Crupie. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Cathy (Everett) Crupie; four children, Bob Crupie and his wife Sherri, of Monroeville, John Crupie and his wife, Marie, of North Huntingdon, Patti Bartolli and her husband, Tony, of Irwin, Nick Crupie and his wife, Lisa, of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Courtney, Taylor, Dominick, Joe, Jordan, and Nick; brothers and sisters, Anthony and John Crupie, Rose Ann Crupie, Mary Griffiths, Theresa Freeman, and Chris O’Rourke; a brother-in-law, Clarence Everett, and his wife, Janice, and sister-in-law, Rose Crupie, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1- 3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. on Monday at Ott Funeral Home Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin. Parting prayers will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. All CDC guidelines will be followed.
