Obituary for Ronald A. Carney

Ronald A. Carney, 61, of Irwin died Sunday March 14, 2021 at his home. He was born July 19, 1959, in Homestead a son of the late William Raymond and Erma Louise (Harding) Carney. Prior to his retirement he was an Inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was an active member of the Shafton Volunteer Fire Department; P.I.A.A. for which he officiated football and umpired baseball. He was a longtime announcer for Yough and Norwin Athletics and coached Youth Midget Football League for Yough. Ronald enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and spending time with his wife. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Raymond Carney. Surviving is his wife Roslyn (Barimbao) Carney; step-sons Nikko Falla, Terry E. Quashnock II (Bethany); a daughter Louisa Carney; two grandchildren Emro Quashnock, Dominique Brown, Jr.; several nieces and nephews and friends whom loved him very much. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 t 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ott Funeral Home Inc 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Irwin Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. Please be prepared to follow all CDC guidelines, such as masks, social distance, and limited number of people in the funeral home.
