Obituary for Thomas Matthew Colinear

Tom, 46, from Larimer passed away Monday, May 3rd at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born on February 19, 1975 in Pittsburgh to Tom and Nancy (Hershfield) Colinear. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Theodore and Zelma Colinear, maternal grandparents Elmer and Charlotte Hershfield, Uncle Ted Colinear, Uncle Ed Patterson and father-in-law Jim Vidanoff. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Stephanie (Vidanoff) Colinear, brother-in-law Ryan Vidanoff, parents Thomas E. and Nancy Colinear and two beautiful God-daughters Gracye Secrist and Kenedie Colinear. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Tom graduated from Norwin High School in 1993. He was the captain of the football team his senior year. He went to college at Lock Haven University where he played football. He was past governor of the Irwin MOOSE and held other positions. He was District 10 President, District Legion President 121, State committeeman Pennsylvania MOOSE Association and secretary of District 10. He received his Pilgrim Degree in 2015 which is the highest Degree of the MOOSE. Tom received an Association degree in Electrical Maintenance from Triangle Tech and he was also in the Apprenticeship program with IBEW local #5. Tom worked for several companies in his lifetime which included Kehe Specialty Foods, Pepperidge Farm and Taylor Telecom. Tom loved his two yellow labs, Duke and Dakota. He loved nature and enjoyed driving up to the mountains and sitting around a bonfire. He was an avid Bob Ross fan. He taught himself how to paint “happy little trees” and truly had an artistic gift. Tom had a great sense of humor and could always make people laugh. He will be truly missed by all who loved him. Friends will be received Thursday 2 to 7 p.m. at Ott Funeral Home Inc 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin. A funeral service will be held Friday in the funeral home chapel at 10 am. Please know that all CDC guidelines will be followed.
