Veda Kresovich Yoney, 65, of Irwin passed away surrounded by loved ones from breast cancer on June 30, 2022. She was born September 29, 1956 in McKeesport. She was a daughter of the late George Kresovich and Mildred (Karanovich) Kresovich of West Mifflin, PA. She is survived by husband James, daughters Anna (Valentin Braulio Chavez) of New York City and Karla (Jessica DuFour) of Penn Hills, brother Stephen (Janice Kilburn) Kresovich of Greenville SC, sisters Diane (Michael) Ranieri of Pittsburgh and Lisa (Bruce) Riley of Sutersville, several nephews and cousins. She was a graduate of West Mifflin North High School and the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in computer science and math. She had a long IT career at Allegheny Power after which she followed with a short time as a certified nurse aide and then IT work at Highmark. She was the epitome of love and service, volunteering with the Highmark PALS program through April of this year. In lieu of funeral services and flowers, Veda’s family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 whose mission is that no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family's ability to pay.
